February 2018, the Fisherman Exchange Rate (NTN) of East Java rose 0.86 percent from 124.85 in January 2018 to 125.93 in February 2018. Although last month the waters of East Java waters have not been so good, but because the price of fish is quite good then it can boost NTN.

Head of Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of East Java, Teguh Pramono at Surabaya office on Wednesday (21/3/2018) said the increase was also due to the fisherman's price index rising by 1.59 percent, while the price index paid by farmers rose by only 0.72 percent.

The development of NTN February 2018 to December 2017 (calendar year) rose by 0.59 percent. The development of NTN in February 2018 to February 2017 (year-on-year) rose by 6.19 percent. While the index of prices received by fishermen in February 2018 compared to January 2018 rose by 1.59 percent from 164.74 to 167.35.

The development of the price index received by fishermen in February 2018 against December 2017 (calendar year) increased by 2.44 percent. The development of the price index received by fishermen in February 2018 to February 2017 (year-on-year) rose by 9.43 percent.

The main commodities that experienced the largest increase in the price indexes received by fishermen were the increase of the catch price of the Anchovy, lemuru fish, mackerel, swanggi fish, shrimp, tembang fish, globe fish, squid, lotung fish and tuna fish. While the main commodities that experienced the biggest decrease in the price indexes received by fishermen were the falling prices of mackerel fish, crabs, yellow fish, groupers, skipjack, catfish, peperek, tuna, baronang and tetengkek fish.

Of the six provinces on the island of Java that calculated NTN in February 2018, they all experienced an increase in NTN. The highest increase of NTN occurred in Banten Province 2.40 percent, followed by West Java 1.80 percent, then DI Yogyakarta 1.30 percent, East Java rose 0.86 percent, Central Java rose by 0.66 percent, and the last was DKI Jakarta Province which experienced an increase of 0.19 percent.

If you look at the figures of NTN calculations in each province in February 2018, the highest NTN occurred in the East Java Province 125.93 while the lowest NTN occurred in DKI Jakarta 103.35. (
